Whats in a cup?
There is a lot more to a good cup or mug than a cylinder with a handle. Size, weight, and shape are as important as the glaze, a good cup will give the same feeling of comfort as your old worn out sweats or tennis shoes. It fits your hand, it fits your mouth, it holds the right amount and it holds your interest. Many people over the years have confided that they will wash one of my cups rather than use another for their morning coffee and they get very upset if it should get broken. Each cup is hand thrown and there are slight variations in size, shape, and color so even if you get a set there will be one you like better than the others and rarely is it the same one someone else in your household likes best. Modern cups for the most part are made to be machine friendly for the production process, not user friendly. The world has become sterile with most things we use everyday never being touched by a human hands until we open the package it came in. It is the little things that change your quality of life, the things you interact with daily.
It is a new year and I will be putting new pictures and sizes of my cups and mugs online shortly.
